Hormones Stink
________________________________________________________________
Spoke with my BFF today. She called after I texted her. It was awkward though. I cannot put my finger on it. I did notice she's suddenly arguing with everything I say. If I agree with her about something, she'll make a point against it. But it sounded like her daughter is back home, and that things are coming together for her in a lot of ways that have been quietly weighing on her. I don't know guys... We've been friends for years, closest during the last two. Jeez, through her entire labor, she would snap and yell at her daughter, the nurses, doctors, but she was always sweet to me. This is just weird. I'll just hang in there. I don't know what else to do.
Had a few massive headaches last week. Mostly from being at the stupid dried out nasty hospital for so long. I hate hospitals. So dehydrating and the water was nasty, so I'd have to run down to the cafeteria while she was resting for a $2.00 12 oz bottle of Dasani. Sheesh. Sorry for the TMI, but it's going to be that time of the month, which means migraine, which means I better be in good shape for Sunday because the kids are giving a piano recital! I cannot wait! I missed the last one due to migraine, and it will kill them if I miss another! So think non-hormone inducing migraine for me, okay? Thank you!
So, today I got my first mosquito bite of the season. We cranked open the windows for the first time, and the fresh air is so awesome! 75 is freakishly warm for this time of year. I've already been wearing my Herman Munsters (see image below for best most comfortable shoes in the 'verse), even though I'm in pitiful need of a pedicure.
Oh, the company Michael works for cut everyone's salary by 10% today. So no pedicures in my near future. Ah, Riley and I can give each other foot treatments or something. I'm just thanking God he still has a job! And he's put a sideline business together that's going to help too. People, prepare. Stock up your pantry. Buy and extra pack of toilet paper. An extra box of tampons or bottle of Advil. Tough times are even reaching us way up north. It can't hurt, right?
The girls and I bought a variety of seeds the other day. Lettuce, zuchini, green beans, beets, carrots... The kids and I are going to get them started tomorrow and Saturday, Michael is planning on building some garden boxes. I'm SO excited. I've been wanting a garden for years. I have let my house plants go over the years (I have one Christmas cactus left though, Mom!) but I hope Papa's green thumb has rubbed off enough to get us going. Or maybe it skipped a generation and one of the kids will make for some fresh spinach! Woot! How crazy is it that Tim hates peas and green beans, but will eat broccoli, salad and spinach? Well, as long as the spinach is chopped up in something. I bet if he's helping to grow it, he might give peas a chance. Hahaha!
