Emily's Wee Itchy Ears ________________________________________________________________
Emily has had a problem with her ears itching for nearly a year and a half. It started with a case of swimmers ear that would just never clear up. The pediatrician sent us to the ear nose and throat doc who took a culture and found it wasn't fungal and sucked out her ears with a little sucky thing and put some steroid cream in her ear which helps for a month or few and we're right back at square one. So he suggested I take her back to the pediatrician to see if there is an immunity issue, which we did today.

Poor sweetie! She tries so hard not to itch. The last couple days, she started having some discharge which made her itch all the more and round and round we go. The doctor thinks it's a staph infection, which horrified Emily. You all know what a little germaphobe she is! The doctor took a new culture and ordered a blood test. She hasn't had blood taken in years. It was pretty traumatic for her, really, although she wasn't as vocal about it as Maggie is. She told me that if she has to have another blood test, she's definitely not going to look at the blood, and it was a good thing it had been a couple of hours since she'd eaten because she may have barfed. Poor girl!

All in all, it was a rough day for my little girl! Of course she wanted to see her daddy right away afterwards, because daddy makes it all better!

Except for mommy. Even when we have insurance for the kids, he gets so irritated with doctors and tests they want to do. Which stresses me out completely. Instantly giving me a massive headache. I really need to find a better way to deal with stress and differences of opinion with my sweet husband other than my head trying to explode out of my ears.

It snowed yesterday. I took a picture with my phone, but I haven't figured out how to get pictures off my phone yet! New cellular contract signed in blood gave me a new phone. A new pretty pink, complicated phone, or I would share the pretty white driveway and snow covered mailbox with you now. It hasn't even had the courtesy of melting away the first couple of times snow falls like usual. It's sticking, people.

Thank the good Lord in heaven that our furnace was installed this weekend. And now we have our new furnace man living here. Well, he's parking his house behind our garage. Looooong story... Short version, he's a good guy who's had a tough break and no where to park his trailer. I know it sounds rather garbage de blanc, but it's not that bad... Besides, the thought of him spending another night in his truck with his dog made kept me up half the night! Today he re-plumbed the downstairs and after discovering the kids watching Scooby Doo, plopped down on the couch and joined them. Xander snuggled right up to him, too. He seems to fit in around here quite well!
