She Makes Me Proud ________________________________________________________________

So for this lovely holiday weekend, I've asked my webmaster (husband) to do a little tweaking to ye ol blog. Some of you have moved and I need to update my blog roll and other various housekeeping. Heh! Michael. Housekeeping. Teehee! That's cute!

I spent most of the afternoon of Palin Day (as August 29th will forever be known as in our home) in bed with a mucho macho sinus headache worse than my normal migraine. I was on the Percoset Passageway for a while. Which doesn't take the pain away, but makes me not care too much about being in pain so I can sleep it off.

While I was sleeping, Michael did a special show about Sarah. The media relations folks from that show on CNN with the older gentleman in black glasses who has the longest running live interview show called. His initials are L.K. and it rhymes with Marry Ling. They took sound bites off the live streaming of Michael's show to air on Marry Ling's show. Thank you, DVR! I was lucid enough to watch it shortly after. And Michael made a copy of his show, so I could hear that too. Whew! My sweetie's show was on Marry Ling! The kids and I are so proud!

My gosh, what a thrill to see Sarah up there on that stage at the GOP convention. To think, I've shaken her hand. We've talked about family. She took the time to chat with each of my children. Michael's had her on his show numerous times. We've chatted with her at functions. She's so down to earth. So personable. And for as easy as she is to talk to, she's three times as savy. To say she has integrity is inadequate. Her husband has just as much character. She gives her running mate credibility as far as I'm concerned. I may have had a bit of trouble voting for him, but no doubts at all in voting for her. Seeing her up there... I have to admit, I got emotional. She's done more for our state in 20 months than her predecessors have in decades.

Here's what Mike Huckabee said about her "lack" of experience that the other guys are talking about. "You get more experience to be President in a month of being Governor than several years as a Senator. And let me explain why. You don't sit around making speeches and listening to people talk in committee hearings. You make decisions every few minutes, you make them right now, you live with the consequences. If they are wrong, everybody blames you, if they are right, you have a hundred legislators all taking credit for it."

For those ladies who will vote for her just because she's a woman? Shame on you. For those men who will vote for her because she's beautiful? Shame on you, too. But still vote for her. And then you'll see she's so much more than just a pretty woman. She is a leader. She makes me proud of my state, and country. Give Sarah half a chance, and she'll make you proud too!

Shania could have written this song for Sarah.
