Save the Drama for Your Mama ________________________________________________________________
So in current (surprisingly drama-free) events:

The Mayor is representing himself still and he questioned Michael on the stand today. This is me. With my hand covering my mouth, tittering like a Geisha. A hearing that should have taken a couple of hours is now on day three. I just hope The Mayor is getting enough rope to hang himself with. This is supposed to be about custody of his son. He spent the first day questioning SIL about their DOG! Okay, that was a little drama, but not bad considering.

My van is being worked on again. This is good! No more pounding the dashboard to make it start. Apparently I no longer have enough juice to beat the dash hard enough, because I'd always have to call Michael to rescue me. He'd bang on it and it would start right up. The same thing happens with any electrical device I am having trouble with. It's embarrassing. And really sticky in 85 degree weather.

My youngest SIL is getting married on August 9. I'm making pillowcases as well as getting something from their registry. Have I started yet? No. I'm not even sure they are going to like it. I hate putting hours into something like that and have it go unappreciated. But I'm determined to give them something sentimental along with whatever they want from their registry at Wal-mart. Heh!

Yesterday, I saw Dr. Loopy. Those of you who have been with me for a while know the history there. The rest of you? My apologies. I might go into past details later. So, I was at the radio station waiting for Michael to take me to lunch and I went outside to visit with Shawna. We're giggling and laughing and being loud and I see him come out the front door. Shock much? He comes over and gives me a light hug, "long time no see" and I introduce him to Shawna. He's going to be doing a show on Saturday's. He's fine. I'm great. Shawna gives him her card so she can work out some promotion details. That was all. He was very quiet. Very low-key. I was very loud and boisterous in comparison and just continued to have fun with Shawna as he got ready to leave. He climbed on his motorcycle and rode away. No, "let's catch up" or anything. Which surprised me and relieved me at the same time. He looked so... sad. Deeply sad. It broke my heart, really. It made me want to reach out in friendship, which would be so bad in so many ways. NOT a good idea. It's been bad enough that he's been on my mind ever since. He used to have a spring in his step. A kindness and a sense of well-being about him. Now he seems lost somehow. The smile never reached his eyes. That was the worst part. His eyes looked dead. No life. No spark. I wish he had been able to work things out with his ex-wife. I wish I could let go. I shouldn't care so much. I haven't spoken with him since he called me after I had Xander. Poor man. I hoped he would be in a relationship by now. If he is, it doesn't seem to be a good one. So sad!
