Riley Is Invited....

Today I received in the mail an invitation for Riley to attend the People to People Student Ambassador Program next summer. She will be touring England, Ireland and Scotland for a 19 day trip. I don't know how much it will cost, nothing I can find after registering mentions a thing! If I have to sell everything I hold dear, I will make sure she can go. What a dream come true! If only they need some chaperone's! I've always wanted to visit these countries but always considered it nothing more than a pipe dream. I so want to make this possible for Riley!
I've never heard of this program before! Apparently she was nominated by someone... We're SO excited about it! I can hardly believe it! If any of you parents out there know anything about this program, please share!
Of course she's most excited about going to England and trying to see where Doctor Who is filmed with seeing Ireland and possibly catching a glimpse of the Loch Ness Monster right up there too!
Here's what she'll get to do:
Sample Itinerary: British and Irish Heritage People to People Moments - Make friends with Irish students over a welcome barbecue.
- Enjoy an official briefing in London with a current or former member of Parliament.

- Take your confidence to the next level as you challenge yourself to rappel down a castle wall in Wales.
- Capture the incomparable scenery of Glencoe and the Gap of Dunloe.
- Help alongside Irish citizens serving food to the community’s elderly.
- Thrill to whitewater rafting in Scotland.
- Compare Irish life then and now as you visit a 19th-century village re-creation and a working farm.

Program Destinations London, England - Get to know the Beefeaters, official guards of the Tower of London, and hear about the Tower’s many functions over the last 10 centuries.

Bangor, Wales - Take the Full On challenge as you rappel down a castle wall under the guidance of professionals.

Dublin, Ireland - Explore Dublin in small groups, including landmarks like Temple Bar and Grafton Street.
- Try your hand at Gaelic football in the Gaelic Athletic Museum.
Shannon, Ireland - Glimpse Irish village life in a 19th-century folk park, then explore the adjoining Bunratty Castle.
County Kerry, Ireland - View the breathtaking Gap of Dunloe from a horse-drawn “jaunty-car.”
