Going to Have to Burst Your Bubble
________________________________________________________________
I know a lot of you have the image of me being this strong Alaskan woman, right? Well, I'm not. It's -48F. at my house. There is ice on the windows. In an effort to conserve heating fuel, Michael has the furnace set at 55. And that's been fine! We snuggle in our fleecy pants and sweaters and it's been fine!
Until this morning.
I'm freakin' flippin' cold, dangit! All I want to do is go back to bed under my down comforter with a book! I'm cranky. The kids are cranky. No one wants to do their schoolwork, and I don't want to either. Emily woke up in a complaining mood. Maggie doesn't feel well. Timmy keeps having outbursts while he's doing his typing, "Oh for the love of Pete!" every few minutes.
My sis in law hasn't even called this morning, so I don't know when she's coming with my nephew. I'm sure she is coming, because she is a tough Alaskan woman. She'll go out and start her car, braving the weather and go to work whereas I just want to snuggle on the couch with a hot cup of coffee under a pile of blankets and watch Scooby Doo with Xander.
The dog is trembling under the afghan next to me and refuses to go out to pee. I don't blame him.
I'm still in my fluffy robe because it's the warmest thing I have, but I'll be embarrassed if my sis in law does show up. Oh, well!
Okay, time to cowboy up and go about the business of educating my children! First, coffee!!
