Scared Feckless!
________________________________________________________________
I haven't been able to sleep again. At 2:30 AM I start wondering if it's too late to take one of my last precious Ambien. Then I start imagining myself as Golem from Lord of the Rings stroking my last little pink pill muttering, "my preeecioussss," and I'm just SURE I'll fall asleep any minute. Three hours later and endless tossing and turning and I wish I had taken it. It's been a couple nights of this again. Night before last, I went back to bed when the kids got up. This morning when I woke up at 7:30, I just stayed up.
My MIL invited the kids over to make Christmas cookies. She had kind of forgotten about it, and then I called and reminded her. Hah! I didn't know I'd get a whole day to myself. I thought I'd at least have my nephew and Xander. I wanted to wrap presents and make some fudge without any ever so helpful little hands, but I went back to bed instead. To quote one of my new favorite blogs, Claire23, "FECK!"
An even bigger feck is how I woke up this afternoon from my nap. First I had a dream that Riley ran off with the boy that asked her out on a date. His mother called me looking for him, and she ended up not being where she told me and it looked like she ran off with him. SO not likely, but it felt strangely realistic! Eeep!
Then the phone rings. I'm kinda dozing. It wasn't a special ring (Riley set up the phone with special rings for everyone) so I ignored it. Then the doorbell rings. I'm in my robe. I have bed head not to mention not so fresh breath. I'm SO not answering the door. I snuggle back under the covers and hope they go away. Then I hear the door squeak. Instead of going for my .357 like I probably should have, I hesitated and heard someone call my name. It was my FIL! Holy crap on a cracker! He picked up a Christmas present for Michael for me and he was dropping it off on his way by. I'm not sure who was more embarrassed, me in my robe sleeping in the middle of the afternoon, or him catching me in my robe sleeping in the middle of the afternoon.
That threw me for such a loop, I've done nothing ever since except talk on the phone and chat online. All this lovely quiet time alone, and I'm frittering it away!
And then, in all my great wisdom and sleep deprivation, I decided to invite my in-laws over for Christmas dinner. Then she asked if that included my Sis in law. Well, of course it should, but I wasn't thinking on that grand of a scale. Two extra just turned into another 5 extra with sis in law's out of town guest. I need to grocery shopping. My face is still killing me from my sinus infection and I haven't been sleeping for more than a couple hours at a time.
