I Missed World Naked Bike Ride Day!
________________________________________________________________
Apparently June 9 was World Naked Bike Ride Day. I don't know how I missed it.... Oh, I know! Because there is a reason why we wear clothes, people! And I don't think it really counts of you're wearing a hat. Or scarves. Or shoes. Because then you're not technically naked. So those folks totally lost points with me. I lost all respect for them. Which didn't take much. Can't folks come up with a more socially redeeming way to get their point of view across? And one that doesn't make me want to hide my eyes and mutter, "Aw, jeez!" And now I made you do the same thing. Maybe. And if you did have to hide your eyes from the nude tushies, I'm sorry. Truly. But it was okay with the Associated Press, so I thought it would be okay here. But you have my solemn promise that it will not happen again.
Thank you Yahoo News for covering that important story about naked biking. But seriously, thank you for the rear view. I might never have recovered from a full monty frontal.
So Maggie's birthday party is this Saturday. She wants to have it at the lake. We haven't been yet this year because it hasn't really been warm enough for it. And last we heard, the lake still had some ice. Now it's thawed, but it's also diminished. The lovely land management folks in all their widsom, messed with it somehow and the water table is all screwy. So there is 30 feet more beach then there has ever been before. Ever. And for the first time in 10 years it's supposed to rain on her birthday. It's never rained. Not once. I guess we got cocky planning for an outdoor party, didn't we? Michael says the water is actually warmer in the rain. Maybe. But other then a Hawaiian Cake, I have no other plans for her birthday.
